Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive treatment for tendonitis, muscular, ligament and other soft tissue injuries.
It involves the application of high-energy acoustic (mechanical) pulses transmitted into the tissues of the affected area of the body.
Each shockwave treatment works to increase the metabolic activity around the site of injury or dysfunction. This pulse stimulates the body’s natural healing process, in turn reducing pain and the expected time frame of healing for an injury.
Approximately 80% of all patients report a substantial improvement after the second treatment. If no improvement within the first four treatments, standard care resumes and further investigation/imaging may be required.
