Leah Rowan (Exercise Physiologist)
BAppSc (Sport & Exercise Science)
Leah is an Exercise Physiologist with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Western Sydney.
In addition to working at Absolute Health Solutions, Leah also works from a gym and a retirement village on the Northern Beaches. Leah has previously worked at a physiotherapy practice and rehabilitation hospital, aged care facilities and was a consultant at Mirus Australia, an aged care advisory firm.
Leah studied Sport and Exercise Science because of her love of exercise and an interest in rehabilitation. As an exercise physiologist, Leah specialises in the delivery of exercise and lifestyle modification for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases and musculoskeletal injuries. She works with her clients to help them make lifestyle changes through education and exercise advice and prescribes an individualised and safe exercise program based on their medical conditions, injuries/pain and current fitness level. She strives to help her clients achieve their health and fitness goals, and experience the benefits of improved cardiovascular fitness and strength.
Leah’s specialty lies in working with older adults, helping them maintain independence within their home and making daily activities more manageable through exercises to increase mobility and strength, and prevent falls.
Other interests are lower back pain and chronic disease management including diabetes and weight loss. Leah understands that people trying to lose weight may have arthritis, pain or an injury that may be preventing them from exercising. She takes these into consideration and will design a program to help achieve the client’s goals as well as manage their pain.
